Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress as well as a director producer and singer. A beautiful, smart and skilled actress, she is an example to Asian actors who want to become big names in Hollywood. After a series of appearances in television shows that were popular, she became famous when she was cast in the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she portrayed Ling Woo. In the wake of a rapid rise in her popularity, she was offered roles on major screens like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She then delivered an amazing performance in the role of Japanese criminal O'Ren Ishii as part of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. At the same time she was an actress in the flops that were box-office hits like Rise: Blood Hunter were equally prominent. Then she began voicing the characters of animated films like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Small screen roles such as Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia did not yield positive results. Southland was a highly acclaimed police show that Liu played in on a regular basis, was a role which allowed her to be a famous as an as an actress.
