Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She's co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, television personality, philanthropist and also the proprietor and editor of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece she relocated to England when she was sixteen and then graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. When she was 21, she became the president of the renowned debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. Then she became a conservative syndicated writer after her graduation. When The Huffington Post launched a few years after, she created an online voice platform which offered critiques of political scenarios. The fame of Arianna helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna became famous in 2003 as she stood in the California recall election in the place of Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna also spearheaded the Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient automobiles. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as The most influential women in media gaining 12th place on the list and in the same year the Guardian named her to the top 100 of media lists. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. Then she was appointed the President of the media division at AOL. It was comprised of several AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli, who are both management consultants and journalists. While she was very close with her father, it was her bond with her mother that formed her character. At a young age she showed her leadership skills and is a household name. When she was 16 she moved into the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college in which she became the first woman to be elected president. In 1972, her master's in Economics was awarded. Her career as TV host and journalist was born after graduation. She also appeared in the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from Bernard Levin.
