Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek is a Mexican-American actress born to Syrian-Lebanese parents. Salma Hayek grew up in Mexico in a wealthy Roman Catholic family. The young girl was influenced as a young girl to be an actress by the film 'Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory'. After attending Mexico City's "Universidad Iberoamericana," she felt prepared to enter the film industry. In the Mexican Telenovela "Teresa," she made her first appearance as an actor. In Hollywood she got the part of Antonio Banderas's co-star in 'Desperado. Others roles followed, such as 'Fools Rush In and Wild Wild West.' In the movie 'Once Upon a time in Mexico the actress reprised her role as 'Desperado. In the following years, she established her own production house called Ventanarosa. The film that she first produced was the Mexican film 'El Coronel Dos Tienes Quien Escriba and it was Mexico's official entry to the Oscars 'Best Foreign Film' category. Also, she was the executive producer of 'Ugly Betty.' The role she played as Sofia Reyes in 'Ugly Betty was nominated for 'Outstanding Guest Actress in the field of Comedy Series' at the 60th 'Primetime Emmy Awards.' She has also endorsed products such as 'Revlon' or 'Avon' and has launched her own range of skincare, cosmetics and hair products dubbed 'Nuance.'
