Lynda Carter

 Carter was born in Phoenix as the daughter of Juanita (nee Cordova), and Colby Carter. Her mother comes from Mexico is Mexican, Spanish and French. Carter has one brother named Vincent and a sister named Pamela. Carter appeared on public television for her debut on Lew King's Talent Show at age 5. Carter joined a group called Just Us during high school. The band played a marimba, conga drum and an acoustic guitar and a stand-up basses that was played by a different girl in the group. Lynda began to sing at a local pizza restaurant when she was 15. [8] At 16, Lynda teamed up with two cousins in forming another band, The Relatives. The actor Gary Burghoff was the drummer for the group. The band was first formed in the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas. Carter had to enter the kitchen because she was older than 21. She was voted "Most gifted" and decided to venture into the world of music. Carter attended an audition in the year 1970, and sang on tour with The Garfin Gathering's bandleader Howard (Speedy), Garfin. Their first concert with each other was held at the Holiday Inn Chinatown, a San Francisco hotel so new that there was no sidewalk entryway. They played mostly to hotel guests and staff, who parked their vehicles underground. The Garfin Gathering played shows in many Nevada casinos, including those located between Lake Tahoe, Carson City and Reno. Carter left the Garfin Gathering to pursue acting in 1972. She then returned to Arizona.
